Why read this?
I’ve spent over forty years in industry, in many disciplines. The first twenty five years in the corporate world, the last fifteen in start-ups. I invested my own time and money, and that of friends, colleagues, investors and some banks as well….. I can be quite persuasive.
Having built and exited from two businesses I decided to become an investor, non-executive director, board advisor, and in one case a Chairman to a number of start-ups and early growth companies.
This newsletter contains my musings, learnings, successes and failures. I will share with you my experiences, both good and bad. Most important of all, for those of you who want to wear the tag “entrepreneur” I will give you some valuable insights that you will find of use..and some advice to perhaps help you avoid the same mistakes I made. You will still make your own, but I may help you be able to laugh about them…eventually.
Here is an example of a typical article I write and publish.
I will make sure that I also scatter throughout “ Simplify to Succeed” some general business nuggets for SME’s that I found to be both true and of use throughout my career. So even if going it alone, re-mortgaging your property, selling the dog and worrying about how you are going to pay other people’s wages is not for you I hope you find some things in here you can use in your working life.
